JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position involves monitoring and testing products, implementing quality control measures, and adhering to regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for checking daily production reports and daily shipping reports.

Required to perform daily visual inspections that GMPs are being performed and will be recorded on a weekly basis.

Responsible to check receiving reports, final product inspection, and glass and brittle checks when QA is on vacation or out of the office.

Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Stay updated on current food safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP) and assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures.

The QA Technician will not be able to take vacation at the same time as the Quality Manager and/or the Operations Manager.

Will perform other technical functions that maintain facility and equipment compliance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Basic math skills for the purpose of measuring
Must have solid writing skills and report writing skills
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment helpful.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The QA Technician does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education Requirement: HS Diploma or GED. 2-year technical degree strongly desired.
Experience Requirements: General maintenance and/or building & grounds experience
Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.

EQUIPMENT, MACHINES AND SOFTWARE USED

This position requires the regular use of Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS

Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance.

Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with detailed repairs, and while performing parking lot duties near traffic.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that may be encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. The individual is exposed to typical regional weather conditions, and typical indoor environment. Duties involve working in a variety of areas (outside, inside, typical repairs).

Occupational hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and other hazards.

Unpleasant tasks: Duties may include unpleasant odors, food allergens.

Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and/or other lubricating or cutting fluids. Exposure to fuel, paint and chemicals.
