Location in: Aberdeen, NC
Primary Function:
We are seeking a Building and Test Environment Technician to join our team in our Aberdeen, NC facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and sustainment of our testing and training facilities including industrial equipment, building systems, and control systems. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in industrial components, industrial control systems, building facilities and is open to cross-training in other areas. Training may be provided for qualified candidates to develop skills on non-ICS systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Industrial Equipment Sustainment:
Perform regular inspections on industrial components such as pumps, valves, motors, and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment as needed to ensure uninterrupted testing processes.
Industrial Control Systems:
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Industrial Control Systems (ICS), including PLCs, SCADA systems, and DCS.
Perform routine diagnostics, updates, and ensure systems are running efficiently.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
Implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform basic maintenance on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks (coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, etc.), and battery maintenance/replacement.
Inspect and replace fuses, filters, and other minor vehicle components.
Perform tire checks, rotations, and ensure vehicle safety features are functional.
Track service schedules and ensure timely vehicle maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
Security Systems Maintenance (Access Control & Video Surveillance):
Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure facility access control systems (e.g., card readers, keypads, biometric systems).
Manage video surveillance systems (e.g., CCTV cameras, NVRs, DVRs), ensuring they are operational, secure, and recording properly.
Ensure both access control and surveillance systems meet organizational security standards and address any technical issues related to system operation, configurations, or recording/storage.
Mobile Support:
Travel to various locations to set up, oversee, take down, and move mobile test systems.
Ensure that mobile test systems are fully operational, properly configured, and meet testing requirements.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mobile test systems.
Work closely with the team to ensure smooth operations during tests, ensuring equipment is installed and moved according to schedule.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of all system maintenance, service requests, and repairs.
Evaluate, update, and make recommendations for an engineering repository with all relevant design specifications, piping and instrumentations diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), mechanical and electrical drawings, acceptance reports, and maintenance documents.
Employee should expect to be assigned additional duties as needed to support the overall success of the team. This includes assisting colleagues with various tasks and responsibilities, which will occasionally involve helping to maintain the cleanliness of the office and shop facilities, including restrooms. Qualifications:
Familiarity with standard industrial components and equipment.
Proficiency in industrial control systems.
Knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, access control, building automation, and video surveillance.
Comfort and proficiency in working with hand tools, fabrication equipment, and electronic equipment for prototyping, assembly, and testing purposes.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate throughout all levels of the organization effectively verbally.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to use a ladder and work overhead with power tools while installing equipment. The job requires occasional overtime.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet – typical of what is generally found in an office setting. The employee will occasionally find it necessary to enter a manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment is typical of that type of setting – employees may be exposed to inclement weather, loud noises, tripping hazards; and there may be exposure to sparks, welding arc, open flame, and moving equipment.
Travel:
Travel is anticipated for this position. Overall travel is expected to be less than 15-20% of total work hours.
