Job Summary:

A detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist is needed to join our team. The QA Specialist will be responsible for monitoring product quality and employee practices on the manufacturing floor to ensure all products meet company standards for food safety and quality.

Job Duties:

Identify and report any food safety or quality concerns to authorized personnel for corrective action.

Conduct in-process QA inspections across production lines once per shift, including reviewing production paperwork, product samples, lot codes, weight checks, metal detection, labels, cleanliness, GMP compliance, and allergen control.

Perform daily scale calibration checks.

Manage product holds by placing non-conforming materials on hold, issuing electronic hold reports via SharePoint, transferring PQ products, and coordinating product releases or disposals as necessary.

Audit metal detector functionality during production.

Verify DVU (2 Log and 5 Log) and perform alarm checks on roasting equipment.

Conduct production line changeover validations, including clean equipment checks and ATP swabbing per company sanitation policies.

Perform environmental swabbing during production and annual allergen validation testing.

Maintain QA supply inventory and prepare product retain samples.

Execute internal plant audits and glass/brittle plastic inspections.

Conduct annual magnet pull tests and bi-annual metal detection tests on earplugs and bandages.

Monitor GMP practices on the production floor, issuing daily reports on observed issues.

Submit maintenance work requests for equipment repairs.
Halt production lines when critical food safety issues are identified.

File and maintain QA documentation.

Check oil FFA and water chlorine levels.

Serve as back-up for QA Specialist I when needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the QA department.

Qualifications:

High school diploma required; college education preferred.

Minimum 1 year of QA/QC or operational experience in food manufacturing.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Basic math proficiency.

Effective communication skills (verbal and written).

Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant quality certifications
