The Process Quality Engineer develops and optimizes manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.
Essential Functions
Design and implement new manufacturing processes to optimize production efficiency.
Knowledge of regulations in regard to safety and health regulations.
Assess machine and labor process capabilities to maximize throughput, minimize cost, and enable capacity growth across production systems.
Create and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and improve production performance, capacity, and delivery metrics.
Assess and monitor process modifications and upgrades as well as troubleshooting existing processes.
Supporting the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.
Assume responsibility for risk assessment, including hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, for health and safety.
Ensure that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations.
Understand production materials/chemistries and their associated reactions.
Required & Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
Associates or higher in manufacturing engineering or related field is preferred.
Basic understanding of thermodynamics when used in electronic production.
Basic understanding of statistical process control and implementation.
2+ years’ experience in a process engineering role. With an emphasis on SMT Production and DI Water/chemistry cleaning basics.
Working knowledge of basic electrical/mechanical tools for troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Ability to communicate well with suppliers and internal teams.
Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Work Environment/Physical & Mental Requirements
This job operates in a manufacturing assembly environment.
Frequently utilizes tools related to the production of PCBAs.
Ability to lift up to 80Lbs for short to moderate periods of time.
Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Working inside or under equipment in enclosed areas.
