Job description
As a family owned industry leading contract packager, Atlas Putty Products, Co. ensures that from raw material to finished product and everything in between, we specialize in aligning our team around our projects.
We currently have openings for a Quality Control Lab Technician at our Tinley Park, IL Company. We offer a competitive benefits package, work schedule of four 10-hour days, and negotiable pay-rates based on experience.
1st Shift 7:00am-5pm
Job Duties:
· Perform testing of samples from the mix department using established analytical methods.
· Conduct testing on new products and new projects.
· Identify out-of-spec testing and communicate non-conformance with all necessary parties.
· Manage and organize any and all lab data via excel or mix books.
· Review all completed mix documents, verify all required information is documented
· Ensures quality and consistency by assessing, modifying, and/or calibrating equipment.
· Communicate with mixer operators on mix adjustments, changes, and mix status.
· Coordinate & process samples for retain management program.
· Update the mix department production board for lot numbers and test completion.
· Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
· Maintain a clean and organized lab environment on a daily basis.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with individuals of an organization.
· Thorough understanding of products and equipment used in manufacturing.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. SAP/ERP experience a plus.
Qualification Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree or post-secondary certificate in related discipline required
Two years of related experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing in factory and at times, sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
· Manual dexterity to evaluate, install, and modify equipment.
Bi-lingual (Spanish) helps but not necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour
