The Director of Quality will establish, enhance, and maintain a corporate quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction that positively impacts the financial performance of the business. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm. The hiring range for this position is between $135,000 – $150,000 per year depending on experience*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Act as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and initiatives
Lead the development and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)
Supervise and support quality control staff in daily operations
Serve as the quality assurance representative in product design and development projects
Create and maintain procedures for process control, testing, inspection, and improvement
Establish and track key quality metrics to monitor and improve performance
Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for quality issues
Collect and analyze statistical data to identify trends and support continuous improvement
Review customer specifications to ensure manufacturability and quality compliance
Develop and implement quality plans and process documentation for new and existing products
Monitor and evaluate vendor performance; maintain supplier rating system
Ensure customer requirements are incorporated into quality and process plans
Collaborate with customers to identify quality improvement opportunities
Oversee equipment calibration and product testing programs
Report quality trends and issues to senior management
Define and enforce supplier quality standards
Manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with quality standards
Work with suppliers and customers to resolve quality problems and implement solutions
Promote a data-driven culture focused on continuous improvement
Standardize work processes and eliminate sources of poor quality
Enhance organizational capabilities to support quality-first project execution
Train, coach, and mentor teams on quality tools and process improvement techniques
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or something similar is preferred.
7+ years of related experience and/or training is required.
At least five years of experience in manufacturing of similar products.
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, AS, and ISO certifications.
Familiarity with general inspection equipment such as mics, calipers, gages, comparators, or vision systems.
Aerospace and defense industry experience is a plus.
