Salary Range:
$70,000 – $110,000 annually

Job Summary
We are currently looking for an individual to contribute their first-rate skills as Quality Engineer, a newly created role within our Quality Department. The candidate in this position will need to possess Quality Control techniques to improve manufacturing process reliability, remedy non-conforming product issues, address customer needs, and ensure compliance with all company and industry standards. Duties will include supporting the Department’s role in new products and material evaluations. The person in this role will play a substantial role in the continuous development and improvement of Tectran’s Quality Management System.
Responsibilities:
Assist in supervising compliance to all standards and specifications including ISO-9001, DOT, FMVSS and SAE standards as well as product regulatory requirements to Calif Prop 65, Reach, GADSL, RoHS, TSCA, and Conflict Minerals Reporting
Create, revise, distribute, and file manufacturing instructions, standard procedures, process specifications, forms, and visual standards. Ensure the latest revision is controlled and used
Manage the non-conforming process. Facilitate non-conforming material (NCMR) disposition. Contain stock; coordinate rework activity (includes training, quality alerts and visual aids). Verify conformance to customer requirements. Support Material Review Board (MRB)
Manage the corrective action process. Facilitate correction action procedure (CAR). Write C.A.R.; support interim action, root cause, corrective action, preventative action, and implementation. Perform verification
Determine and develop new inspection/verification methods and tooling as needed to support new and existing product requirements. Provide training as necessary
Manage the Quality System Audit process. Perform process and Quality System audits
Perform quality inspections and testing as needed
Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods. Solicit product and process improvement ideas and report to supervision and management
Write Technical Product Specifications and Data charts as needed for use in marketing and customer communications and/or Tectran web site
Support and perform customer specific requirements including first article inspection, creating PPAP documentation and performing prototype testing
Perform inspection and testing (failure analysis) on product returns to determine root cause of problem and generate reports to management
Communicate with our domestic and foreign suppliers regarding new product evaluations and existing product quality concerns
Update periodic quality graphs and performance indicator reports including scrap counts, non-conforming material analysis and customer complaint log
Perform additional tasks that may be assigned by management
Safety Responsibilities:
Employee will be required to wear the provided PPE per the role requirements
Follow site safety and any department specific protocols
Report safety hazards or potential safety hazards to reporting Supervisor
Attend company safety meetings
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Discipline such as Mechanical or Manufacturing (with electrical background) preferred; and/or Quality Engineer Certification will be considered
At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in injection molding preferred
Proven experience supporting ISO 9001 or other comparable Quality Systems
Electro-Mechanical equipment experience desirable
CAD experience a plus
Experience with product-failure analysis and material evaluations

Solid verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with management, other associates, customers, and suppliers
Experience in communicating with manufactures and suppliers in Asia and the Americas
Excellent math skills
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to walk the operations floor on a regular basis
