The Quality Supervisor is primary responsible for the implementation of various food safety and sanitation activities as directed by the Quality Manager and handling the Customer/Consumer Complaints. The individual will manage the Dock Inspectors to ensure the food safety of the receiving of raw material and the shipment of finished food products. These activities will involve training and daily paperwork reviews.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for managing and responding to the Customer/Consumer Complaints in a timely manner according to the company’s policy. Complaints are received by phone and/or e-mail.

Responsible for assisting with CAPA associated with the complaint in a timely completion. Perform and document assigned investigations (e.g., product complaints), determine the root cause and propose appropriate corrective preventative actions for associated issues and events relating to food safety.

Monitor Critical Customer/Consumer Complaints throughout the weekend and communicate with relevant 4C personnel on any critical complaints for corrective action.Respond to the critical complaint within 24 hours.

Review all production and sanitation records and paperwork daily.

Manage, train and schedule dock inspector staff for shipping and receiving areas.

Perform a daily food safety inspection and communicates the findings to related department(s) for corrective action.

Oversee the retained sample program.

Support food safety and quality control programs as the backup for QC Technicians and Sanitation Supervisor as needed.

Work closely with the Quality Manager to oversee the verification of food safety and sanitation.

Perform other tasks assigned by the Quality Manager/ Director of FSQA based on business needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology or related field required.

At least one to two years of supervisory experience in quality control in a food manufacturing facility.

HACCP and PCQI certification are required.

Working knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of food products.

Advanced knowledge of commercial and regulatory requirements and best practices relating to the food industry.

Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration competencies and ability to implement quality systems through training of quality, production, sanitation and inspection staff.
