The Role:
Maintain, develop and continually improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Ensure documented information (procedures, work instructions, forms, records) is controlled, current and aligned to the relevant ISO standards. Plan, schedule and lead the internal audit programme; manage non-conformities, corrective actions and root cause analysis to closure. Act as the primary point of contact for external certification bodies;
coordinate and host surveillance and recertification audits. Prepare and present Management Review inputs and outputs in line with ISO requirements. Legal & Regulatory Compliance Maintain a legal register of applicable UK Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, Environmental Protection Act 1990, COSHH, RIDDOR, Waste Regulations, product-specific regulations). Monitor changes in legislation and ensure that policies, procedures and operational practices remain compliant.
The Candidate:
Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience (typically 3 years) in a quality / QHSE / management systems role within a manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. Qualified Internal Auditor (IRCA/CQI or equivalent);
Lead Auditor qualification desirable. Sound knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation applicable to manufacturing. Experience managing external certification audits. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis techniques. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of the organisation. Proficient in Microsoft Office and document control systems. Desirable Skills & Experience Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline.
Membership of CQI, IEMA or IOSH. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent. Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above). Experience implementing or migrating to electronic QMS platforms.
