Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for implementing and supporting quality systems including setting up the program, conducting internal audits, maintaining required documentation and conducting external audits when needed.
· Efficiently prioritize workload for quality department and support operations in quality training that is needed.
· Lead day-to-day and improvement activities for Quality departments.
· Create, consult, and support operations in training and areas of deficiency found during daily audits. Monitor countermeasures for quality complaints and audit findings including the A3 process.
· Serve as liaison between Customers, Mill Tech Reps and Operations Department in understanding, monitoring, and solving day-to-day Metal Quality issues.
· Train operators and warehouse team members in steel quality improvement projects.
· Consult and create strategy with management in high level quality issues.
· Create and report on overall MST quality condition and areas of improvement.
· Communicates quality standards and parameters to quality team and other proper staff.
· Be able to support management on quality initiatives.
· Hire and train quality staff.
· Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
· Handles attendance, discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Five to ten years of experience in related fields of manufacturing, automotive, steel and quality with five years supervisory experience is required. Preferred higher education or equivalent experience.
Preferred Education and Experience: High level of experience in quality management systems, preferably in the automotive field.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Fulfills supervisory responsibilities following the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel Required: Must be able to travel when needed, up to 25%.
Work Schedule: Non-Rotational (Monday-Friday)
