Quality Tech – 2nd Shift Jobs in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA at Mixed Staffing and Recruiting
Purpose: We are seeking a hard-working, self-motivated individual to join our team at Mixed Employment Partners. Our goal is to foster a collaborative and diverse workforce where dedication and initiative drive excellence in achieving our organizational objectives.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the goods manufactured by our client meet the pre-established quality criteria. The role includes overseeing the development of quality plans, conducting training and certification for production employees, and ensuring all products meet or exceed our quality standards.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and assist with Quality Plans to ensure all goods meet specifications.
Inspect and verify that incoming materials and components meet our quality standards in a timely manner.
Establish, communicate, and maintain quality standards across relevant departments and staff.
Educate and certify shop floor personnel on quality procedures and documentation.
Assist in developing finished goods product specification sheets.
Collaborate with the Merchandising & Supply Chain team to improve the quality of purchased components.
Provide support for product specifications and supplier development.
Maintain quality control standards for manufacturing processes and assist with training certification.
Assist with communications between suppliers and client to ensure quality expectations are met.
Engage with customers to confirm quality satisfaction and address any quality-related concerns.
Perform other related duties as required.
Job Specifications:
Knowledge of comforter and pillow manufacturing processes, material and feather specifications, and basic computer skills is helpful.
Familiarity with the feather industry is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to overcoming production challenges.
Ability to effectively train others and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, which may include standing, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility.
Ability to lift up to 35-40 pounds, with potential exposure to noise, dust, down, and feathers.
Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of standard operating procedures and company policies.
Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with all levels of employees and external suppliers.
Ability to lead and motivate people to achieve results.
Proven ability to resolve conflict and communicate effectively in various situations.
Demonstrated capacity to evaluate and prioritize departmental needs.
Working Conditions:
Regularly requires physical movement around the facility, including standing, bending, and reaching.
May involve exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, down, and feathers.
May require lifting up to 35-40 pounds.
