Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our machined and fabricated parts. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies and will be instrumental in the implementation of ISO standards. This position will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of manufactured parts, managing the calibration of all shop equipment, and driving a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards for CNC machining and fabrication processes.
Lead the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Manage and execute the PPAP process for new and existing products, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
Utilize APQP methodologies to proactively plan for quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined and fabricated parts, utilizing various measuring tools and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
Identify and document non-conformances, initiate corrective and preventive actions, and verify their effectiveness.
Manage the calibration schedule and records for all measuring and test equipment, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans, and quality reports.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Train personnel on quality standards and procedures as needed.
Qualifications of the Quality Engineer:
Minimum of 7 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a CNC machining shop.
Proven experience with PPAP and APQP processes.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards and implementation.
Proficiency in using various measuring tools and inspection equipment, including CMM experience.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
