Bulldog Battery Corporation (Bulldog) is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company that manufactures and distributes industrial batteries used in forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, locomotive diesel starting, explosion-proof batteries, and more. Our employee-owners take pride in building the highest quality reputation in the industry. Each battery that leaves our 187,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facilities undergo extensive testing, including full discharge and equalization.
We pride ourselves on our rapid order delivery. While the world struggles with supply-chain shortages and delays, Bulldog Battery has integrated each step of the manufacturing process in-house. Competitor lead times are backlogged more than 12 weeks, whereas we typically ship within two and strive for a one-week ship date. We lead the way when it comes to industrial batteries.

About the Role
Our quality program is in its early stages, and we’re looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity rather than a problem. You will design and implement the systems, documentation, and processes that define how quality works here for years to come, including SOPs and work instructions for every work area in the plant.
We are a small company, which means two things. First, your work will be visible and your decisions will matter. Second, everyone here pitches in beyond their job title. The right person for this role wants to be counted on wherever the need is, whether that’s quality, production support, training, or something nobody saw coming.
What You’ll Build
- A quality management system and document control structure from the ground up, integrated into daily production rather than bolted on after the fact
- Standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process flows for each department and work area
- Inspection standards and test parameters for products and components, derived from design specifications and customer requirements
- A corrective action process that actually closes the loop: root cause analysis, implementation, and follow-up verification
- Training materials and defect documentation that keep every work area informed of inspection findings and requirements
- Quality content for facility-wide Communication Stations to build plant-wide quality awareness
What You’ll Do Day to Day
- Review design specifications to understand the scope and requirements of each product and component
- Perform in-process inspections throughout each phase of manufacturing and final inspections before shipment release
- Serve as the quality point of contact for customers on returns and complaints, owning the issue from first call through verified corrective action
- Train new hires and transfers on quality standards and inspection requirements
- Support lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives across the plant
- Step in wherever the team needs help
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Experience in metal fabrication OR a quality role in a manufacturing environment (experience in both is a strong plus)
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. You will train operators, write procedures people actually follow, and represent us directly to customers. This is as important to us as technical skill.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field, OR equivalent experience paired with demonstrated strong written communication
- Hands-on proficiency with basic measurement tools, including calipers and tape measures, plus experience with gages and reading print drawings
- Strong problem-solving ability: analyzing information, detecting issues, and driving them to resolution
- Highly organized: able to build and maintain accurate documentation, manage inspection schedules, and keep multiple priorities moving without letting details slip
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Experience building or significantly improving a quality system, rather than operating within an established one
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methods, supplier audits, and Control Plans
- Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, or training programs
