Position Summary: Maintaining the quality of our recycled materials through meticulous testing and analysis. Using state-of-the-art lab equipment, you will ensure that our products meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing and analysis of samples from production to assess the quality and consistency of our recycled materials, using laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Utilize laboratory instruments such as spectrometers, chromatographs, and tensile testers to conduct analyses accurately.
- Make accurate and timely recordings of test results, maintaining detailed records of all testing activities and observations for reference and analysis.
- Monitor all aspects of production processes to identify and prevent potential contaminants or flaws that could affect product quality, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Organize labeling and paperwork associated with sample testing and analysis, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Provide prompt test results to production and quality control teams to facilitate real-time decision-making and ensure transparency in production processes.
- Use critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend appropriate adjustments or corrective actions.
- Utilize mathematical calculations and statistical analysis to interpret test results and identify trends or patterns that may impact product quality or performance.
- Demonstrate effective computer skills to input, analyze, and report test data using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or other software applications
- Clean / paint equipment, clean / seal floors, paint lines around equipment when assigned
- Assist with product sequencing when required
- Actively particpate in work teams
- Implement Improvement Ideas in line with the plant targets and commitments
- Other duties as requested
- May be assigned to count inventory, write tickets or audit during inventory
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Knowledge / Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and recording data
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and techniques for testing and analysis
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

- Previous experience working in a laboratory or quality control environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and regulatory requirements in the manufacturing industry
- Forklift driving skills or willingness to obtain certification
- Valid Drivers License
Safety / Hazards:
- Steel toed shoes required in production area at all times due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts and product
- ANSI Z87.1 standard safety glasses required in production area due to dust, oils and debris
- Ear protection required in production area due to high noise levels from machines
- May be exposed to fumes and dust
- Exposed to significant temperature changes in the facility – (heat in the summer / cold in the winter)
Physical Requirements:
- Job sometimes involves lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds ( exerts 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping and bending
- High mental and visual effort required
- Work involves considerable bending and twisting
