Description

Purpose:

The Quality Technician will assist the Quality Manager to meet the company goals and maintain quality standards through administrative support, utilization of standardized quality control tools and procedures, and integration of best practices.

General

Job Duties:

Assist in entering customer complaints (NODs) into the Quality system (QXP). Assign NODs to corresponding department/supervisor and supply them with any samples provided with the complaint.

Issue required paperwork for defective product to be picked up at the customer’s location;
Issue a request for customer credit for the returned product (approve RGA) and submit to Invoicing Clerk for processing.

Assist in investigations of identified quality non-conformances.

In the absence of Inventory Coordinator, verify returned product quantity, obtain a sample (if not previously supplied by Sales correspondent).

Obtain information from Amtech, CTI, or QXP systems, such as, but not limited to: order production information, invoices, delivery receipts, roll numbers used on the order, complaint summaries, etc. Present the obtained data in spreadsheet and/or graphical format as required.

Generate monthly Quality report graphs using templates provided;
Update Quality boards at production machines with Quality-related information monthly.

Collaborate with various departments to complete the above tasks, and perform any other administrative duties as required Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process, process changes and production goals.

Participate and engage in Quality Work Groups, and Daily Operations Reviews; develop an understanding of Atlantic operations to provide knowledgeable, concise information through all methods of communication.

Complete GEMBA walks, cooperating with plant management to report and assist in ensuring a culture of Quality, Food Safety and Health safety.

Collaborate with CI engineers in developing enhanced processes and procedures.

Back-up for this position is a Quality Technicians from alternate plants when required or as designated by the Quality Manager.

Assist in Filing documents, checklists, etc., including production paperwork.

Other duties as required.

Experience/

Qualifications:

University/College education in Quality

Minimum 3 years Quality experience required

Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset

Thorough knowledge of HACCP requirements and other quality programs

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail

Proficient in the use of computer software programs, including Microsoft Office

Able to work with minimal supervision and solve problems independently

Must have good people skills
