Join us as a Quality Technician (I/II/III) at our Jefferson, WI facility and help ensure the precision, performance, and reliability behind Generac’s world‑class energy solutions.
Hours: 5am – 3pm, Tuesday-Friday
Pay Rate: $20.60 (Quality Tech I) $22.60/hour (Quality Tech II) / $25.60/hour (Quality Tech III)
Location: 900 N Parkway St, Jefferson, WI 53549
What You’ll Do
As a Quality Technician, you’ll play a vital role supporting Generac’s Quality Management Systems, ensuring parts accuracy, inspection, and the continuous improvement of quality processes across the facility. You’ll partner closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to support product excellence from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
Quality Tech I
- Conducts process and product audits to ensure team members are following standardized operating procedures and adhering to all quality standards.
- Implements resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems.
- Exercises judgement within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.
- Implements process improvements to continuously improve quality.
- Cross train in multiple departments or stations and flex to other similar departments based on business necessity.
- Assist with NPI/ECN changes and other duties as assigned by Quality Supervisor or Manager
- Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity.
Quality Tech II
- All Quality Tech I responsibilities
- Able to conduct standardized problem-solving process and aid/support implementing corrective actions to resolve design, supplier, or production quality issues.
- Supports facility in gage/tool calibration and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R)
- Trains others in quality tool usage to implement process improvements to continuously improve quality.
Quality Tech III
- All Quality Tech I & II responsibilities
- Uses initiative and judgement to lead problem solving and implementing appropriate countermeasures.
- Carry out calibration duties, update KPI board for Quality, assist with training new Quality Techs
- Leading team/virtual meetings and exchange job related information
- Solve problems independently within designated authority level.
- Uses root cause problem solving (5 WHY, 8D, PDCA, etc.)
- Effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.
- Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent experience. 3 years of experience in an operational environment in a quality role
What We’re Looking ForBasic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of quality experience
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in an operational environment in a quality-focused role
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Has the ability to maintain a professional rapport with support groups and peers while achieving results.
- Leads communication to team members reviewing achievement to quality metrics and progress of countermeasures/projects.
- Supports communication to Supervisor of issues impacting quality with appropriate countermeasures.
- Ability to perform reading, writing, and math functions.
- Basic drawing, wiring, and schematic interpretation skills.
- Intermediate PC knowledge.
- Intermediate knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Quality Control Plans, mistake proofing, Nonconforming Material Reports (NMR), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and ISO Quality System processes.
- Knowledge in CMM programing and processes.
- Ability to train others

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Temperatures can vary from cool to warm depending upon the season. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
