How you make a difference:
The Quality Assurance Director plays a critical role in driving excellence across the organization by managing and overseeing the Performance Improvement (PI), Compliance, and Risk Management programs. This strategic leader designs and implements robust policies and programs to ensure every department complies with accreditation standards, HIPAA regulations, and all relevant laws. In addition, the Quality Assurance Director provides essential training and orientation on corporate compliance, HIPAA, and risk management, empowering teams to uphold the highest standards of care and operational integrity. Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Staff Support & Direction: Provides guidance and support to clinical staff to ensure effective monitoring, reporting, and performance.
Compliance Reviews & Assessments: Reviews all functional areas within the facility for compliance with organizational, client, or regulatory standards, documenting findings and recommending improvements.
Incident Reporting & Root Cause Analysis: Investigates and reports facility incidents, assists with internal audits, and conducts root cause analysis on high-risk activities.
Risk Management & Safety Plans: Coordinates the risk management program, including safety plans and hazard vulnerability analysis (HVAs), ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and safety protocols.
Training & Performance Improvement: Provides training on accreditation standards, federal/state regulations, corrective action plans, and performance improvement tools, and serves as chairperson for relevant safety and compliance committees.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in human services, health care, management, or related discipline.
Preferred: Master’s degree.
Experience:
Required: Three (3) years of demonstrated management experience in risk management, compliance or performance improvement administration.
Preferred: Previous experience in a hospital environment.
Certification:
Preferred: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or other quality professional certification preferred.
