The range for this role is $71,000 – $97,000

Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate’s work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education. This role includes opportunity to receive an annual bonus target of 10% of annual eligible earnings. Actual bonus amounts are determined by length of time in role, individual performance, and organizational performance.

Interested applicants must be willing and able to work at least 4 days per week onsite in either our Melbourne, FL or Orlando, FL office.

The Job

The Software QA Engineer will partner with the Manager of Software QA by creating, evaluating and supporting software test plans to ensure quality software reaches our production environments. Testing methodologies and concepts in this position would include black box testing, incremental integration testing, functional testing, system testing, end-to-end testing, sanity testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, load testing, stress testing, performance testing, usability testing, and security testing. This role will support our existing application and operations infrastructure, SDLC, business processes, and procedures. The Software QA Engineer is an important team member in the operations of our internal and external software and systems.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Develop testing plans and testing scenarios in accordance with the functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and detailed technical specifications provided by design team to ensure code generated by the development team conforms to the specified requirements
Test web, mobile and database platforms using experience with QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Support growth of Dev/Ops processes with source control and CI applications (Git, SVN, TFS, Bamboo, Jenkins) knowledge
Plan new automation test procedures, reviewing software bug reports and highlighting problem areas
Be involved with project plans detailing the expected level of effort and time required, and consistently meet the allocated milestones
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Maintain defect backlog, prioritize defects and champion fixes
Work with automation team to design, develop, and execute automation scripts using various automation tools such as Selenium, jmeter, Blazemeter, GhostInspector, etc
Contribute to the exercise and expression of the Ministry’s Christian beliefs
All other duties as assigned

Essential Skills & Abilities

Proven expertise in testing web and mobile platforms or mobile development
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
Ability to interpret and scope customer requirements
Effective ability to set objectives and organize work independently
Solid knowledge of SQL 2012 and writing SQL queries
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-project environment while meeting deadlines
Knowledge with source control and CO applications (Git, SVN, TFS, Bamboo, Jenkins)
Experience with automated testing tools
Proven knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR, HIPPA)

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM major or equivalent combination of education and experience required
3+ years’ experience with SQA testing on ERP type applications/systems or proven work experience in software development required
Advanced programming experience including automation systems and databases preferred
Familiarity with programming script languages including Java, JavaScript, C#, and/or VBScript preferred
