Job Summary:
Lucchese Boots are the highest quality cowboy boots in the industry. The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for providing quality assurance in a high-mix, elevated boot factory. You will work closely with the production department ensuring compliance with industry standards. In addition, this position will support the Quality Assurance Lead in different processes aligned with Lucchese values, consistent policy administration and a safe work environment.
Scope of job:
The Quality Assurance Lead verifies the conformance of a variety of parts, products, and processes. Ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality before reaching the customer. Must inspect the properties of footwear, identify defects, and provide detail reports on quality inspections.
Duties/Responsibilities:
All responsibilities mentioned below can be modified but not limited based on the company’s needs.
Revise ticket information to match the product.
Inspect the overall product: design, leather, measurements, color, size and quality.
Follow a series of steps and processes to guarantee the highest quality of the product.
Enter/scan required documentation in the system.
Identify and report any quality defects.
Notify corresponding department of the quality control results.
Coordinate with the production team to process corrective actions for the identified quality issues.
Print and add labels as needed.
Maintain updated records of quality reports, and relevant documentation.
Participate in the development of quality control standards and procedures.
Identify areas for improvement.
Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations.
Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials and finish goods (boots, belts, accessories, etc).
Conduct in coming inspection on raw materials and finish goods.
Perform training as needed by the quality department.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Mentoring: Ability to provide technical mentorship and coaching to staff members.
Training: Ability to provide training for actual staff and new members, open to learning and perform cross training in different areas.
Communicating: Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing and maintain confidentiality.
Average Work Schedule: Monday – Friday from 6:00AM – 2:30 PM and Saturdays as need it depending on business needs.
Leadership: Ability to lead by example and obtain support from co-workers and work independently and as part of a team.
QA and Reasoning Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects. Working knowledge and experience performing quality system and process audits. Ability to work in a fast-paced/stressed environment while maintaining safety and quality priorities. Ability to perform all job functions in adherence to Lucchese philosophy and values, policies as well as the Environmental, Health and Safety standards and responsibility for housekeeping in the assigned area.
Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:
Education: Associate in a related field and/or certification in quality control inspection.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of three (3) years using methodologies within a Quality Management System.
