Arcon Recruitment is recruiting for a QA / Technical Advisor to join an established food manufacturing business in County Mayo.
This opportunity may suit either a recent graduate in Quality, Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline, or a candidate with 2–3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Technical, Food Safety or a similar role.
The Role
Working within the Quality and Technical function, you will support the day-to-day management of quality, food safety and technical standards across the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
- Carry out quality checks and ensure products meet required specifications and standards.
- Assist with internal audits, inspections and compliance activities.
- Support HACCP, traceability and food safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate quality and technical documentation.
- Assist with investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Work closely with production teams to maintain quality and food safety standards.
- Support customer and supplier technical requirements.
- Assist with preparation for customer, certification and regulatory audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant food industry legislation, standards and procedures.
Candidate Profile
We would be interested in hearing from candidates with:
- A degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Quality, Quality Management, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Nutrition, Manufacturing, Science or another related discipline.
- Graduate candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with a broader Quality or Science qualification who are interested in developing a career within food manufacturing will also be considered.
- Alternatively, 2–3 years’ experience within Quality Assurance, Technical, Food Safety or food manufacturing would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Quality, Technical and Production teams.
- A proactive approach to quality and continuous improvement.
