We’re hiring a Software Quality Operator for our small but mighty team to design test plans, simulations, and find bugs to help accelerate feature development. In this role, you will:
Know the robot better than almost anyone else
Develop test plans and create simulations to test the behavior of our autonomous trucks
Work with the Systems Engineering team to design simulation tests and ensure sufficient coverage for our systems requirements
Design and execute on-road structured testing and analyze the results
Analyze and report on the results of simulation and field data
Perform root cause analysis efficiently with minimal oversight
Identify and categorize failure modes of our system, assess risk, and escalate as necessary by filing bugs and tracking through to resolution
Generate reports of overall performance to share with the team
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to improve workflows and processes
We are looking for someone who:
AV industry experience – 1+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle/robotics industry in a software quality operations role (simulation experience preferred)
BA or BSc preferred
You take ownership and drive the team to deliver exceptional results, and employ a high degree of accountability
Proven ability to get to the bottom of things
You are a critical thinker with strong root cause analysis skills
You have the ability to quickly learn and implement new concepts
You are curious by nature and are willing to investigate with diligence and understand the cause of unexpected things
Great communicator with experience writing clear, concise, and detailed communication
Love of robots – You love to be in, around, or near robots

The salary range for this full-time position is $118,000-$130,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We can share more about the specific salary range for your job level during the hiring process.
