Job Description Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the products or services of the company meet the established quality standards.
Role Overview
- Conduct inspections on products or services to ensure they meet quality standards
- Identify quality issues and recommend improvements to the production team
- Create quality control reports and maintain accurate records of product or service inspections
- Program, set up, and operate CMM machines to perform precise dimensional inspections of components.
- Train production personnel on quality procedures and standards
- Collaborate with other departments to improve overall quality and efficiency
- Participate in audits of the quality management system
- Works to achieve operational targets within job area, with significant impact on achievement of results for the team
- Work consists of tasks that are typically not routine
- Works independently under limited supervision
- Frequently required to apply discretion within broad operational boundaries and procedures
- Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information on matters of significant importance to the team
- Explains practices, procedures, and policies in order to reach agreement
- Responsible for making moderate changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of team
- Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for manager review Daily challenges are typically not complex, and may require analysis to understand and resolve
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within team
- May delegate tasks within a team or be responsible for review of work
Required Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with quality control processes and procedures
- Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and probe qualification on CMM equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management system
Pay: $26.00 – $37.00 per hour
