EDUCATION, BUSINESS EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Required: bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Preferred: 2 years of experience in medical device industry
Experience with software development, testing, and/or quality engineering
Experience with data acquisition in a laboratory environment
Strong documentation and protocol development skills
Collaborates well with team members
Strong verbal and written communication skills

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Strong knowledge of good laboratory practices (following instructions, highlighting issues, and documenting results) for acquiring test and verification data
General knowledge of software, mechanical, and electrical fundamentals
Experience with testing in a regulated industry, medical device preferred
Effective communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams
Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Ability to learn and apply applicable regulations and standards
Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Test Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of surgical localization systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers, the Test Engineer will contribute to the development, testing, refinement, and ongoing support of groundbreaking medical devices. Responsibilities include software testing, defect tracking, hardware prototype evaluation, formal verification and validation, protocol development, documentation, and participation in other product development activities intended to produce complete, ready to sell localization systems. The Test Engineer may also operate standard instrumentation and perform basic test automation tasks. The Test Engineer must have knowledge of good testing and documentation practices, be able to follow guidelines given general direction, and have excellent communication skills.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Identification and documentation of defects and issues, and recommendation for improvements
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components
Timely and accurate execution of test plans
Formal verification and validation testing
Preparation of test protocols, reports, and other documentation
POSITION DETAILS
Full-Time
8:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday-Friday
Pay Range:
This is an salary position.
$65,000.00
