We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented R&D Analytical Scientist to join our dynamic research and development team at our Elmhurst compounding pharmacy facility. Working closely with our Lead Formulation Scientist, analytical chemists, and quality assurance teams, you will ensure our testing pipelines are executed with the highest level of scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

  • Support new product development through timely analytical reporting, rapid data interpretation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing analytical testing activities across R&D and analytical labs in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Perform hands-on chemical analysis with a focus on accuracy, data integrity, and compliance under the guidance of senior scientists.
  • Help track, prioritize, and complete analytical research, method development, and validation activities with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Formulation Scientist, analytical chemists, and R&D leadership to advance the pipeline.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and fast turnaround technical reports summarizing analytical results, project progress, and data trends.

Scientific Support & Instrumentation:

  • Conduct analytical testing (HPLC, dissolution, stability, etc.) and sample preparation under the guidance of senior scientists.
  • Support analytical method development, method validation, and stability studies in alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain accurate, audit ready documentation of laboratory procedures, raw data, and analytical results.
  • Follow laboratory safety, documentation, and cGMP practices consistently.
  • Assist in interpreting experimental data and summarizing finds quickly and clearly for team discussions and leadership updates.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with QA, Regulatory, and Production teams to ensure analytical timelines align with organizational and release priorities.
  • Assist with the seamless transition of validated analytical methods from the development stage to production scale and quality control.
  • Serve as a technical communication bridge between scientific teams and other departments, promoting transparency and consistency in project execution.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
  • 0-3 years of dedicated experience in R&D, analytical chemistry, or a regulated laboratory environment (internships, coops, or academic lab experience welcome).
  • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation (especially HPLC) and basic laboratory techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to write accurate, fast paced analytical summaries and lab reports with close attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in a highly regulated cGMP laboratory environment is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

  • This is a full-time, in-office and in-lab position based at our Elmhurst compounding pharmacy facility (5 days per week).
