Job Summary
The Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing incoming inspection of raw materials and purchased components in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all materials meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements before being released into production. The Receiving Inspector plays a critical role in preventing nonconforming materials from entering the manufacturing process and supporting compliance with industry standards such as IATF 16949.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspection of raw materials and purchased parts upon receipt
  • Verify product dimensions, appearance, and specifications against technical drawings and quality standards
  • Review supplier inspection reports, certificates of analysis, and material documentation for compliance
  • Conduct sampling inspections based on established inspection plans and procedures
  • Identify, label, and segregate nonconforming materials to prevent unintended use in production
  • Register and maintain nonconforming material records in the quality management system
  • Issue detailed inspection reports and document all inspection results accurately
  • Control, calibrate, and properly use inspection tools and measuring equipment
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to supplier quality issues
  • Ensure full traceability of materials through accurate record-keeping and system updates
  • Re-inspect sorted, reworked, or replacement parts as required
  • Assist in internal audits and customer quality audits as needed
  • Coordinate closely with production, warehouse, and quality control teams to resolve material issues
  • Follow all company quality standards, procedures, and work instructions
  • Ensure adherence to automotive quality system requirements, including IATF 16949.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and workplace policies

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection or automotive manufacturing preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Korean) preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and quality system documentation

  • Full Time, M-F 7-5:00
