A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Job Description Summary
A Reliability Engineering Technician at Tandem supports engineering activities such as design verification and testing. This individual executes mechanical, system, and ongoing reliability testing and works from schematics, diagrams, documents, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble‑shooting functions.
A Reliability Engineering Technician at Tandem also:
- Performs and analyzes experiments and integrates work of self and others to complete assignment of the overall work plan.
- Writes experimental summaries and technical reports for own data.
- Organizes and presents own data.
- Assists in the design, construction, test, and check‑out of test equipment.
- Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
- Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Records and compiles data for documentation of test procedures.
- Reviews data for compliance to specifications and reports abnormalities.
- Maintains department documentation, inventory of test materials, calibration, and preventive maintenance records.
- Ensures the preventative maintenance and calibration of lab equipment are up to date.
- Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities.
- Performs all assignments in accordance with established safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:
On‑Site:
This role is on‑site five days a week at our Headquarters in Del Mar, CA office due to the nature of the work involved. This position has a schedule of 11:00 am – 7:30 pm PT.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- HS Diploma
- AA Technical Degree or 2 years of equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience in an engineering environment.
- Experience using manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment: test programs and specialized test apparatus.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to read and follow procedures and flow diagrams.
- Able to effectively share information regarding issues in written or verbal form and making recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
- Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks and complete assignments on time and with minimal errors.
- Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook; PowerPoint is a plus).
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base pay range for this position is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.
