JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Lead Robotics Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the robotic systems that bring our art installations to life.
This includes but is not limited to:
• CONCEPTUALIZATION AND DESIGN
Collaborate with engineers, artists and designers to transform creative visions into feasible solutions. Design mechanical systems, electronics, and control software for realistic robotic movement and behavior, based on advanced simulation .
• PROTOTYPING AND TESTING
Build and test prototypes, iteratively refining designs to ensure functionality, reliability, and aesthetic appeal.
• INTEGRATING AND PROGRAMMING
Integrate various robotic components, sensors, and actuators. Program complex behaviors, interactions, and responses to environmental cues in an embedded system.
• INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
Execute the installation of robotic systems at exhibition sites. Provide ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting support.
Qualifications and skills:
• ADVANCED DEGREE
By preference, you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
•EXPERIENCE
Proven track record in designing and developing robotic systems, preferably in animal-inspired robotics. Hands-on experience in prototyping mechatronic systems. Experience with CAN bus technology, brushless geared actuators, and simulation environments such as MuJoCo or Isaac Sim is a plus.
•PROGRAMMING PROFICIENCY
Expertise in Python, C++, or other relevant programming languages for robotics control in embedded systems and simulation.
•CREATIVE MINDSET
Passion for pushing the boundaries of art and technology, finding innovative solutions to bring artistic visions to reality.
