Position: RT (Fluoroscope Real-time) Level I Technician
Location: Vereeniging
R120/hr
Purpose of the job:
The successful candidate will be required to perform X – Ray (Fluoroscope-Real Time) testing and visual inspections on pipes and monitor inspections and job cards ensuring compliance with the required standards. The candidate will report directly to the NDT Team Leader.
Some key responsibilities will include:
Operating of real time X-Ray machine
Do daily inspection on the X-Ray machine ensuring no water leaks.
Record and complete an X-Ray report for all passed, repaired, and failed pipes as per required WI / QCP
Identify and mark all defects to be repaired by using a paint mark system.
Quick reporting to production on any weld problems that needed to be rectified.
Have the ability to make quick and accurate interpretations and decisions.
Perform in-process visual inspection on welds when X-ray is not required, identify, mark and record defects as per implemented work-instructions or procedures.
Ensure safe working procedures are adhered to at all times.
Monitor calibration expiring dates of safety radiation monitors to the Team-Leader
and/or Calibration Officer.
Ensure general housekeeping is performed.
Requirements:
Grade 12
Computer Literate
DOH (Department of health safety certificate)
RT Level I qualification (SAIW, SANDE or equivalent)
Welding Level I qualification and/or experience in visual welding inspection will be advantageous.
Be familiar with Radiation Safety requirements.
Be prepared to work shifts.
Proven history
Have own transport.
