As part of our continued growth in the Railway sector, we are looking for a Safety Manager to join our team and contribute to innovative and Railway projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for system-level safety management across new vehicle developments, refurbishments, and upgrade projects—from concept through validation and operational handover.
- Serve as the central authority for safety-related matters, coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, regulations, and certification requirements, maintaining the highest levels of technical integrity and quality assurance.
- Translate regulatory and customer safety requirements into clear, actionable engineering and operational safety specifications, and ensure their consistent implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct comprehensive safety analyses such as hazard identification (HAZID), risk assessments, failure mode analyses (FMEA/FMECA), and change impact evaluations to support safe design and operation.
- Oversee the preparation and approval of safety documentation, including safety cases, hazard logs, verification and validation reports, and certification files; actively participate in system integration and safety validation activities.
Education & Professional Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or a related field (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in railway, mobility, or complex systems engineering, with a strong focus on safety management.
- Proven experience in leading safety activities and coordinating cross-functional teams in multidisciplinary environments.
- In-depth knowledge of railway safety standards, certification processes, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CENELEC standards such as EN 50126/50128/50129).
Personal Competencies:
- Methodical and analytical thinker with a strong drive for precision and results.
- Excellent communicator who enjoys collaboration across teams and technical domains.
- Proficient in English and German (minimum B2/C1 level); additional languages are a plus.
