What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Answer incoming calls courteously and resolve customer requests while directing calls to the appropriate area as necessary
- Schedule and manage patient appointments based on requests and provider availability
- Gather and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information for new and existing patients
- Educate customers on additional services and resources to enhance their experience
- Document and communicate actions taken during customer interactions for operational continuity
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years of customer service or healthcare experience required
- Familiarity with healthcare concepts, practices, and procedures
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute and perform basic math
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Knowledge of the commercial insurance referral and authorization process
- Experience with practice management or electronic health record systems
