Position Overview:
C2 Group is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Desktop Electric Utility Substation Inspectors to join our team. This role offers a mix of opportunities, with some inspectors working from our San Diego office, where project management will be centralized, and others working remotely from home. Regardless of location, all team members will be US-based. As part of our inspection team, you’ll conduct thorough reviews of aerial imagery (captured via drones and helicopters) to identify and document the conditions of electric substations. This critical work supports wildfire mitigation efforts while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
You’ll work collaboratively within a team environment, meeting weekly production and inspection quality goals defined by project requirements. Regular communication through Microsoft Teams will be essential for learning, team support, and project updates.
Key Responsibilities:
Review high-resolution imagery of substation facilities and equipment such as the following but not limited to switching, regulator & capacitors, switch yards, substation equipment, poles, and structure, using proprietary software and systems.
Identify potential hazards such as clearance violations, structural damage, vegetation encroachments, and compliance issues.
Prepare deficiency reports (notifications) in accordance with CPUC regulations (General Orders 95, 165, and 174).
Work collaboratively to meet team-based production and quality benchmarks.
Communicate frequently and effectively through Microsoft Teams for project updates, training, and team support.
Ensure data accuracy and inspection quality assurance as per project standards.
Employment Availability Requirements:
This is a full-time position with potential for career growth based on individual performance and project needs.
Work schedules align with client requirements, regulatory deadlines, and annual milestones, making the role seasonal in nature.
Duration of employment is dictated by project scope completion and workload availability.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in any of the following:
Electrical Journeyman Lineman, Trouble Man, or Similar
Electrical Asset Inspection (Substation)
Qualified Electrical Work (QEW)
Familiarity with CPUC General Orders 95, 165, and 174 or equivalent regulations.
Strong computer proficiency, including Windows OS and Office 365 (Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams).
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently while contributing to team success.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in desktop electric utility inspections.
Analytical problem-solving capabilities.
Effectively utilize Windows environments and hardware to perform tasks and resolve technical issues.

Employment Details:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts starting at 0600 Pacific Standard Time (seasonal fluctuations, time zone, and overtime may apply).
Equipment Provided: 4K monitors, ergonomic workstations, and laptops.
Work Environment: Office-based with flexibility to adapt as project needs evolve.
