JOB OVERVIEW
This is a seasonal opportunity with an immediate start date. Employment is expected to last a minimum of 3 months and may extend up to 7 months based on operational requirements. The position is scheduled as four 10-hour shifts per week. Overtime may be required. Two days off are provided for each Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays.
You will be onboarded through the local employment agency we have worked directly with for over 30 years.
This position is located in Tangent, Oregon.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct tests to include but not be limited to germinations and stress testing.
- Accurately follow Quality Control (“QC”) standard operating procedures (“SOPs”).
- Maintain all lab testing equipment.
- Data entry using multiple input tools.
- Develop, support and maintain respectful working relationships.
- Work rotating shifts as needed.
- Wear required Personal Productive Equipment as needed.
- Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures, and safety policies are followed and personal protective equipment is used correctly.
- Meet attendance requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to use forceps with keen eye for detail.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Seed production/quality control experience
- Proficient in MS based applications.
- Knowledge of seed testing procedures.
- Strong basic math skills.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed. Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc.). Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays). Ability to work individually and within a team setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, and bend/twist. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
