Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Quality Control to lead and strengthen quality management operations across jewelry production, sourcing, finishing, and final inspection processes. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in quality assurance systems, gemstone and precious metal standards, manufacturing compliance, process optimization, and cross-functional leadership.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale quality operations within the jewelry, luxury goods, diamond, or precious metals industry while working effectively with remote and international teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end quality control operations across manufacturing, finishing, packaging, and product release processes
Develop and implement company-wide quality assurance strategies, policies, and operational standards
Establish measurable quality benchmarks to improve product consistency and customer satisfaction
Monitor production quality performance and identify areas for continuous operational improvement
Collaborate with sourcing, production, merchandising, and logistics teams to maintain product standards
Oversee gemstone, diamond, metal purity, and finishing inspection procedures
Ensure compliance with international jewelry manufacturing standards and internal quality protocols
Manage root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive quality improvement initiatives
Build and mentor high-performing quality control teams across multiple locations
Support vendor quality evaluations and supplier performance management
Prepare quality performance reports and operational insights for executive leadership
Drive process efficiency initiatives to reduce defects, returns, and production inconsistencies
Required Qualifications
Minimum 20 years of professional experience in quality control, quality assurance, or manufacturing operations
Strong background in jewelry manufacturing, diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, or luxury goods production
Proven leadership experience in senior-level quality management roles
Deep understanding of production inspection systems, compliance procedures, and operational quality standards
Experience managing international or remote quality operations
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with global jewelry brands or export-focused manufacturing organizations
Knowledge of international quality certifications and manufacturing best practices
Experience implementing process improvement and operational excellence initiatives
