About the Role:-
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Executive, Halal Compliance to join our Compliance team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all company and OEM products, processes, and facilities comply with Halal requirements and guidelines established by JAKIM, BPJPH, and other relevant Halal authorities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining Halal certification, strengthening Halal governance, and supporting business continuity through effective compliance management.
Key Responsibilities:-
Halal Certification & Compliance
- Manage Halal certification applications, renewals, product additions, and certification maintenance for company and OEM products.
- Ensure compliance with JAKIM, BPJPH, Halal Assurance System (HAS), and internal Halal requirements.
- Maintain valid Halal certification for products across applicable markets.
- Support customer, regulatory, and certification requirements related to Halal compliance.
Audit & Governance
- Conduct internal Halal audits, inspections, and verification activities.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and inspection.
- Maintain Halal documentation and ensure audit readiness at all time.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen Halal compliance and governance practices.
Supplier & OEM Compliance
- Review and verify the Halal status of raw materials, packaging materials, suppliers, OEM manufacturers, and co-packers.
- Support qualification and compliance verification of suppliers, OEMs, and co-packers to mitigate compliance and business risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Halal requirements are integrated throughout the supply chain.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct Halal training and awareness programs for employees.
- Keep abreast of changes in Halal regulations, standards, and certification requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on Halal-related matters.
Requirements:-
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Halal Management, Islamic Studies, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Halal compliance, quality assurance, food safety, or regulatory affairs within the food manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with Halal requirements from JAKIM, BPJPH, and other relevant Halal authorities.
- Experience managing Halal certification for company and/or OEM products is preferred.
- Experience liaising with JAKIM, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities will be an added advantage.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Halal certification requirements and Halal Assurance System (HAS).
- Good knowledge of Halal regulations and industry standards.
- Strong audit and compliance management capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Language & IT Skills
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Experience with SAP and document management systems is an added advantage.
