SUMMARY
The Junior Mechanical Inspector assists with the quality department’s daily activities. Based on Customer requirements, he performs and documents product inspection results throughout the manufacturing process.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Read and understand information on Blueprints and shop travelers.
Perform visual inspection of small components under 3x-10x magnification for an extended period.
Perform dimensional and visual inspection with attention to detail.
Data entry for inspection reports and maintaining daily inspection log.
Follow all standard procedures, work instructions, and specific verbal instructions by the supervisor.
Create a Non-Conformance Report of discrepant material/parts.
Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
The Junior Mechanical Inspector is an entry-level position requiring some basic technical skills listed below; some training will be provided on the job as needed to develop a skillset.
Basic dimensional and visual inspection skills and knowledge are required.
Basic level ability to work on computer programs like Word, Excel, and Outlook
Basic level ability to operate and learn Coordinate Measuring Machines, Optical Measuring Systems, Surface plate inspections tools and other inspection hand tools.
Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions on correct inspection methods and techniques
Ability to work efficiently & accurately with manufacturing to maintain workflow by providing in-process inspection results.
Basic level understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance ANSI Y14.5.
Basic level familiarity and understanding with Mil-Specs and product specifications.
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
Able to write notes, reports, and emails.

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
