Job Summary
The Senior Officer (Quality Control) will ensure that all frozen food and processed meat products meet the required safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, testing raw materials and finished goods, and maintaining documentation in compliance with food safety management systems (e.g., HALAL, HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC).
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspection & Monitoring
- Inspect raw materials (meat, additives, packaging) for compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Monitor processing stages, freezing, and storage conditions to ensure compliance with SOPs.
- Conduct sensory evaluation (appearance, taste, texture) of products.
- Testing & Analysis
- Perform microbiological, physical, and chemical tests on raw and finished products.
- Verify product weight, temperature, and labelling accuracy.
- Maintain calibration and proper use of QC instruments.
- Food Safety Compliance
- Ensure adherence to HALAL, GMP, HACCP, ISO, and other relevant food safety certifications.
- Identify deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Assist in internal audits and external regulatory inspections.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Record inspection results, batch reports, and non-conformance reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports for management review.
- Maintain proper filing of QC records for traceability.
- Training & Continuous Improvement
- Train production staff in quality and hygiene practices.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce defects and improve product consistency.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- Experience: 3-7 years
- Education: bachelor of science in food technology
- Skills: quality control procedures, knowledge of quality control, quality control, quality inspection, quality management, quality assurance, quality control standards, food safety and sanitation
