The role
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our team as the sole QA owner of our desktop applications. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, proactive quality assurance professional who thrives when fully responsible for the testing process, product quality, release readiness, and is fully engaged from design through deployment.As our Senior QA, you will be deeply involved in testing desktop applications across macOS, Windows, and Linux, ensuring flawless functionality and exceptional user experience on every platform.
What you’ll do
- Own and manage the end-to-end QA process for our desktop applications
- Test features and functionality across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments
- Plan, execute, and maintain manual testing processes, with opportunities to contribute to automation
- Track, document, and manage bugs, testing documentation, sprint tasks, and backlog items
- Verify application installers, uninstallers, and upgrade paths across operating systems
- Perform GUI testing and validate consistent behavior across platforms
- Test file system interactions, permissions, and virtual file system behavior
- Validate authentication flows such as login, registration, and session handling
- Analyze logs and collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Ensure release readiness and help coordinate the QA process leading up to releases
What we’re looking for
- Senior level QA experience, ideally with desktop and multi-platform applications.
- Proven experience working independently and owning QA processes.
- Strong leadership skills — capable of guiding quality discussions and driving process improvements.
- Excellent command of bug tracking systems and agile sprint/backlog management.
- At least basic command-line knowledge across different operating systems.
- Knowledge of file systems behaviour.
- Willingness to use AI.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Eagerness to learn.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of any high-level programming language is a plus.
