Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of the organization’s quality system strategy, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, industry standards, and certifications. You will oversee operational processes, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement in quality assurance and control. Your role will also involve hands-on activities, including mock recalls, product labelling compliance, sampling, and supplier audits, to ensure product safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement food safety management system in compliance with SFA licensing conditions, HACCP, ISO 22000, Halal, and other relevant standards
Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations for both importation and exportation
Oversee quality control (QC) processes, including sampling, testing, and record-keeping
Review and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with industry regulations and company policies
Lead internal and external audits, manage certification processes, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
Lead mock recall exercises to evaluate and improve the organization’s recall readiness and traceability systems
Ensure product labelling meets customer specifications and regulatory requirements, including allergen declarations, and country-specific labelling laws
Develop and implement effective sampling for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
Provide hands-on training and guidance to food safety team members on food safety management system and standards
Investigate and resolve non-compliance issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Analyse data, test results, customer feedback, and audit reports to drive continuous improvement
Liaise with local and other countries’ authorities for importation and exportation issues
Job Requirements:
Education: Degree in Food Science & Technology or a related discipline
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry with proven expertise in HACCP, ISO 22000, and quality management system
Certifications: Internal Auditor certification preferred
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hazard analysis
Experience in auditing, documentation control, and technical report writing
Hands-on approach to quality control and sampling methodologies
Experience in conducting mock recalls and product traceability exercises
Knowledge of food labelling regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in sampling techniques, mock recall execution, and product labelling compliance
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with suppliers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Highlights
Working Hours: Mon to Fri 7.45 am to 4.45 pm, alternate Sat 7.45 am to 11.45 pm (5.5 days)
