Job Summary
Inspect fine jewelry to ensure all quality standards are met; communicate defects, suggest solutions and improvements; provide additional support in processing repairs, as well as provide departmental administrative support. Strong communicator displaying attention to detail and good judgement. Acts with transparency and integrity.
Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Inspect and review the construction and assembly of manufactured jewelry. This includes to evaluate diamonds, colored stones and pearls to ensure that all quality standards are upheld during the item’s lifecycle.
Make Product Quality calls within set parameters using standardized verbiage. Conduct testing as specified. Confirm that all components are accurate and function properly. Confirm laser inscriptions where applicable.
Provide photo documentation and identify repair trends; work with the CSR and QA teams and management to recommend repair solutions.
Knowledge of raw materials such as castings and findings.
Administrative tasks include but are not exclusive to inspection processing, related inspection documentation, departmental reporting, inventory analysis and product condition tracking.
Proficient in the English language including of technical language.
Responsible Team player with a high level of accountability and focus.
Job Qualifications
5-10 years of fine jewelry inspection experience
Graduate Gemologist required
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
Knowledge of Photoshop preferred
Capable of multi-tasking and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage small projects to completion
Bench jewelry/manufacturing knowledge a plus
