Position Overview
Our client, a leading Main Contracting company in the UAE, is seeking an experienced Senior QA/QC Engineer to oversee and manage Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across major building construction projects including high-rise towers, residential developments, villa communities, and mixed-use projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, contractual requirements, applicable codes, and company quality standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and extensive experience within a main contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Implement and maintain project Quality Management Systems (QMS) in accordance with company procedures and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved materials, contract documents, authority requirements, and international standards.
- Monitor all construction activities to ensure work is executed to the required quality standards.
- Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and inspection checklists.
Site Inspections & Quality Control
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Review and monitor Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and related quality documentation.
- Ensure timely closure of non-conformance reports (NCRs), observations, and corrective actions.
Material & Technical Compliance
- Review material submissions, technical approvals, and method statements from a quality perspective.
- Ensure approved materials are used and installed in accordance with project specifications.
- Coordinate testing activities through approved laboratories and ensure compliance with required standards.
- Monitor mock-ups, sample approvals, and benchmark installations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate QA/QC records, inspection reports, quality registers, and project documentation.
- Prepare quality reports, audit reports, NCR summaries, and management updates.
- Monitor quality KPIs and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all quality-related records are properly maintained for project handover.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Attend quality meetings and provide technical guidance on quality-related matters.
- Support project teams in resolving quality issues and implementing preventive measures.
Quality Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits by clients, consultants, and certification bodies.
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across project teams.
- Mentor and guide QA/QC Engineers and Inspectors.
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of QA/QC experience within the construction industry.
- Strong experience working with reputed Main Contractors.
- Proven experience on major building projects including:
- High-rise residential/commercial towers
- Villa communities
- Residential developments
- Mixed-use developments
- UAE/GCC construction experience preferred.
- Experience managing quality systems from project commencement through final handover.
