Mission

To lead and continuously improve all Quality Control activities across manufacturing operations by ensuring that raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, and finished goods consistently meet defined quality standards, customer requirements, and product specifications.

The Senior Quality Control supervisor is responsible for driving product quality excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Job Duty

Quality Control Operations Management

-         Lead and manage all Quality Control activities throughout receiving, production, packaging, storage, and dispatch operations.

-         Ensure effective implementation of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and product specifications.

-         Monitor daily quality performance across all manufacturing lines.

-         Ensure timely identification, reporting, and escalation of quality deviations.

-         Verify compliance of products with approved quality standards and specifications.

-         Establish effective monitoring systems to detect and prevent quality defects.

-         Coordinate quality activities with Production, Maintenance, warehouse, Supply Chain, Planning, and R&D departments.

-         Escalate daily Quality Control deviations to the Manufacturing / Operations Manager.

 

 

Raw Materials & Packaging Quality Control

-         Ensure all incoming raw materials and packaging materials are inspected according to approved specifications.

-         Approve or reject materials based on inspection and testing results.

-         Monitor supplier quality performance through inspection trends and non-conformance analysis.

-         Lead investigations related to recurring supplier quality issues.

-         Support supplier corrective action programs when quality concerns arise.

-         Ensure proper quarantine and segregation of non-conforming materials.

 

 

In-Process Quality Control

-         Develop and implement effective process control checkpoints throughout production.

-         Ensure quality controllers perform inspections according to established frequencies.

-         Monitor critical process parameters and quality indicators.

-         Investigate process deviations affecting product quality.

-         Coordinate corrective actions with production teams to prevent recurrence.

-         Drive reduction of process variability and quality losses.

 

 

Meet the Finished Product Quality Assurance

-         Ensure all finished products comply with approved specifications before release.

-         Monitor product quality trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

-         Review and approve final inspection and testing results.

-         Participate in different investigations related to product defects, customer returns, and quality complaints.

-         Ensure proper disposition of non-conforming finished goods.

Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

-         Lead investigations of quality incidents and product non-conformities.

-         Perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies.

-         Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with relevant departments.

-         Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.

-         Track recurring issues and ensure sustainable resolution.

 

Customer Complaints Management

-         Participate in investigations related to customer quality complaints.

-         Analyze complaint trends and identify systemic issues.

-         Coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

-         Prepare technical reports and recommendations.

-         Drive continuous reduction of customer complaints and quality claims.

 

 

Quality Performance & Data Analysis

-         Develop and monitor Quality Control KPIs.

-         Analyze quality trends using statistical tools and data analytics.

-         Prepare weekly and monthly quality performance reports.

-         Monitor:

  • Customer complaints
  • Internal defects
  • Rework rates
  • Product holds
  • Waste generated from quality issues
  • Supplier quality performance
  • Laboratory performance indicators

-         Present quality performance reviews to senior management.

 

Continuous Improvement

-         Lead quality Control improvement projects across manufacturing operations.

-         Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies where applicable.

-         Reduce quality losses, waste, rework, and product non-conformities.

-         Improve process capability and product consistency.

-         Support operational excellence initiatives.

 

Team Leadership & Development

-         Lead, coach, and develop Quality Control Supervisors, Quality Controllers.

-         Establish clear objectives and performance expectations.

-         Conduct performance evaluations and competency assessments.

-         Identify training needs and develop technical skills within the quality team.

-         Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

-         The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for monitoring and improvement the following key performance indicators:

·        Customer Complaint Rate

·        Internal Defect Rate

·        First Pass Yield (FPY)

·        Product Hold Percentage

·        Rework Percentage

·        Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)

·        Supplier Non-Conformance Rate

General

-         Carry out other similar duties that can be defined within the broad functional job and functional responsibilities outlined above. These may include special missions assigned by direct superior, support to other departments/units, providing on the job training, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's Degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in food manufacturing quality operations.
  • Minimum 3 years in a quality leadership position.
  • Advanced knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Root Cause Analysis tools.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Quality Data Analytics and Reporting.
  • ERP and Quality Management Systems experience.
  • Strong MS Excel and Power BI knowledge.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.

Authorities

-         Reject non-conforming raw materials, packaging materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods.

-         Stop production lines in case of critical quality deviations.

-         Hold or block products pending investigation.

-         Request corrective actions from all departments regarding quality issues.

-         Approve product release based on compliance with specifications.

-         Escalate major quality concerns directly to senior management.

-         Recommend supplier disqualification for recurring quality failures.

Work Conditions

The position requires extensive presence on the production floor, warehouses and operational areas. The role involves managing multiple priorities simultaneously, lead the quality control team, responding to urgent quality incidents, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring product quality excellence across all manufacturing operations.
