The Production Quality Manager leads the Quality Department. Responsible for ensuring the quality of production inputs from receipt of raw materials to the sale of finished products. Reinforces the SQF standards, adheres to EHS safety protocols, and all other required GPM and regulatory standards. Responsible for creating, cultivating, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement to further our Commitment to Quality and Operational Excellence. Responsible for identifying and engaging team members in developmental activities to stimulate long-term individual and organizational growth and performance.
General Responsibilities:
Serves as member of Site Leadership Team
Collaborates with other functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and solve problems to support achievement of site goals and objectives
Ensures department goals are aligned with site business imperatives
Develops budget plans following a zero-based approach and manages Quality costs
Provides site strategy for quality management
Serves as Management Representative for obtaining and maintaining quality certifications (SQF etc.)
Quality Manager must be mechanically capable to effectively troubleshoot and fix a variety of mechanical/process outages
Quality Manager must design and implement operating practices for the department
Ensuring compliance with GMPs, and following the principles of Total Productive Maintenance
Strive for the achievement of goals, monitor performance through metrics and report performance through scorecards and reports
Manage the daily staffing of the assigned crew
Enforce safety regulations, ensuring safety standards are met and required safety training occurs
Oversees the training, evaluation, and performance reviews of shift personnel
Performs administrative duties as required including, initiating personnel corrective action forms, vacation requests, and any other reports as needed
Helps to maintain the shift safety program to minimize accidents and injuries and to ensure a safe working environment
Constantly follows quality and production standards and makes the necessary decisions to maintain maximum rates with high quality in an efficient time and manner
Provides strategy for in-process quality control
Establish and monitor KPIs for laboratory and plant performance
Provides oversight of laboratory and serves as equipment owner of analytical equipment and laboratory facilities
Reviews customer specifications and ensures that processes are capable
Provides analysis and leads improvement efforts related to process capabilities (CpK) of production processes with goal of elimination of product defects
Focal point for site customer complaint investigation and response processes
Assure a compliant quality operation (incl. e.g. GMP, SQF)
Responsible for creating and improving customer engagement touchpoints for matters related to product quality and regulatory compliance
Regularly assess and evaluate supplier quality processes to ensure alignment with SQF quality standards; apply corrective action accordingly
Owns auditing and investigation process related to quality and for corrective measures to achieve and maintain compliance
