Job Summary: Join our dynamic team in the solar industry as a Quality Control Specialist! We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable professional with a strong background in solar PV systems, electrical design standards, and construction documentation. This role is critical in upholding the company’s high standards of workmanship, compliance, and design accuracy across all projects. The Quality Control Specialist will play a key role in reviewing project photos, verifying field execution against design requirements, and ensuring lender and jurisdictional standards are met.
Responsibilities:
Review installation photos, system designs, and lender documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company and industry quality standards.
Verify that field installations meet NEC, utility, jurisdictional, and lender requirements.
Cross-check final designs and field conditions against the scope of work, contract documents, and system performance expectations.
Utilize CRM software and internal dashboards to track project milestones, flag issues, and escalate deviations from standard practices.
Collaborate closely with designers, installers, electricians, field leadership, and subcontractors to ensure clear understanding and implementation of design intent.
Provide detailed and actionable feedback to field teams regarding corrections or required revisions.
Maintain documentation of common installation issues and best practices to drive continuous improvement and training efforts.
Participate in the development and refinement of quality control processes, checklists, and workflows.
Monitor code and policy changes across key markets to ensure ongoing compliance.
Support the final closeout process by ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and meets lender or AHJ submission criteria.

Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in the solar industry, preferably in design, field operations, inspections, or QA/QC roles.
Strong understanding of electrical systems and solar PV design, including NEC and utility interconnection standards.
Experience reviewing technical documentation such as electrical line diagrams, plan sets, and inspection photos.
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; able to spot inconsistencies and flag issues proactively.
Proficiency with CRM software and project tracking tools; Salesforce experience is a plus.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and constructive feedback to diverse teams.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

The targeted compensation for this role is between $55,000 – $65,000 annually however, it may vary depending on location. Illinois compensation expectations are between $55,000 – $65,000 annually.
