ROLE OVERVIEW

The QA Lead acts as the central liaison between the internal delivery teams and the central Test organization throughout all testing phases (SIT, BST, UAT, Performance, Regression). The role combines technical oversight, stakeholder management, defect governance, and compliance-driven validation to ensure system readiness and quality delivery.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Test Representation & Stakeholder Interface

  • Serve as the team representative to all Central Test Leads across each test cycle (SIT, BST, UAT, Performance, Regression).
  • Engage and face off with counterpart vendor Test Leads at their level with a proactive, ownership mindset.
  • Lead and facilitate difficult discussions; demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and confidence in challenging environments.

2. Test Strategy & Program Input

  • Collect, consolidate, and represent project testing expectations.
  • Apply deep understanding of the validation process to ensure team needs and testing objectives are accurately reflected in the overall strategy.
  • Calibrate testing depth based on system complexity and risk profile – apply rigorous testing to high-complexity environments; optimize for efficiency in simpler ones.
  • Contribute to the Global Test Strategy by incorporating specific team needs and requirements.
  • Ensure alignment with validation processes, including SDLC and CSV (Computerized System Validation) standards.

3. Communication & Readiness Coordination

  • Understand and synthesize the program timeline, test preparation process, and key actors involved.
  • Communicate test readiness requirements to functional teams and Senior Managers in clear, actionable terms.
  • Leverage strong relationship-building and influencing skills to align stakeholders across organizational levels.

4. Tracking, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage and evolve the Test Readiness tracker; apply critical thinking to improve processes and reduce administrative overhead over time.
  • Provide weekly metrics and status reports to QA Manager; co-define KPIs (plan vs. actual) in collaboration with key stakeholders.

5. Defect Management & Governance

  • Attend defect triage meetings as the representative; pre-review Jira defects and apply proper labels for Defect Dashboard alignment.
  • Collect and onboard test support resources and defect assignees onto the Jira platform.
  • Collaborate with the Central Test Team on accurate defect assignment and labeling by workstream.
  • Drive SWAT sessions with urgency when leadership escalates specific defects – demonstrate accountability, planning, and execution.

6. SDLC / CSV (Computerized System Validation) Compliance

  • Manage the end-to-end process of sharing, reviewing, and obtaining sign-off on test scenarios and test cases.
  • Track evolution of the Test Team's process and trackers post-release; proactively adapt processes to maintain compliance.
  • Leverage software validation compliance experience (CSV/SDLC) to ensure regulatory and procedural integrity.

Required Qualifications & Skills

(Candidates must meet these minimum criteria to be considered)

  • 5–7 years of relevant QA and 2-3 test leadership experience 3 years of hands-on experience managing the full ERP testing lifecycle, including System Integration Testing (SIT), Business Simulation Testing (BST), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Regression Testing.
  • Proven track record in structured defect management and triage using Jira, with the ability to manage dashboards, configure labels, and track resolutions efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles to ensure testing methodologies maintain absolute procedural and technical integrity.
  • A strong ownership mindset with the confidence to act as a central liaison, facilitate difficult discussions, and challenge senior stakeholders when necessary.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; able to influence cross-functional teams, build professional relationships across all organizational levels, and present technical test metrics to non-technical leaders.
  • Experienced in defining, tracking, and evolving testing KPIs (plan vs. actual) and presenting weekly data-driven status reports to the QA Manager.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills with a proven ability to scale testing approaches seamlessly across both simple and highly complex technical environments.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience with software validation compliance and CSV guidelines, particularly in highly regulated industries.
  • Experience designing and calibrating testing depth based on system complexity and project risk profiles to optimize efficiency.
  • A proven mindset for continuous improvement, specifically in reducing administrative overhead and automating test readiness trackers.
  • Background working in regulated environments such as Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Finance, or Fintech.
  • Experience interfacing and collaborating directly with large third-party global consulting firms or vendor test organizations.
