ROLE
We are currently seeking a high-ownership Senior QA Engineer to drive quality engineering for a reputed banking client. In this role, you will act as a key quality gatekeeper, translating complex user stories into robust test strategies while balancing hands-on execution, such as test estimation, scenario design, and defect triaging with strategic stakeholder communication. Beyond technical execution, you will collaborate closely across development and business teams to mitigate risks and actively elevate the team’s overall engineering maturity by mentoring junior QA members and conducting peer reviews.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create test estimates using estimation techniques for the project work
- Analyzing users stories, Use Cases, Requirements and raise requirement bugs
- Prepare test scenarios & test cases from specifications using test design techniques
- Collaborate with the Development/Business teams to understand the requirements and develop/manage the test scenarios/ testcases
- Review of test deliverables created by peers or QA engineers
- Validate design specifications and report design bugs
- Executing different types of tests required for the project as per the test strategy
- Report bugs, retest bugs and bugs triaging
- Communicate, prioritize, track test execution, defects and issues appropriately and recommend corrective action whenever required
- Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out
- Metrics and Dashboard updates along with daily status updates to the leads and management
- Pro actively escalate any risk, issues, assumptions and dependencies
- Providing feedback to the junior team members and mentoring them
- Providing training to the team members
- Performance evaluations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- 4 years' experience in software quality assurance
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science/ IT
- Having A/L Mathematics/Bio Science background with A or B grade for Physics/Combined Maths will be preferable
- ISTQB Foundation certificate is a must
- Thorough knowledge and skills in software quality engineering process
- Having strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work with different teams – Team player
- Ability to communicate effectively with different project stakeholders
- Must be able to handle multiple testing assignments at the same time
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
