Our client, a venture-backed startup redefining robotic camera control, is looking for a QA Engineering Lead to own and scale their automated testing environment across their full-stack platform (embedded, desktop, browser, and robotics). This is not your typical QA role — it’s a highly technical software engineering position where you’ll design and implement an advanced QA architecture from the ground up.
You’ll work directly with the CTO and play a foundational role in building a QA system that ensures a seamless experience across a complex hardware/software system.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain test automation infrastructure for the entire stack: embedded systems (Rust/Go) desktop apps (Electron/React, Go, Rust) and web browser testing (React/TypeScript)
Set technical direction for all things QA — from architecture to tooling to CI/CD integration
Collaborate with engineering and product to deeply understand the system and develop creative testing strategies
Develop tools and simulations to test real-world hardware and video inputs
Mentor engineers in writing effective and scalable tests
Stay current with QA best practices and emerging tools (especially LLMs and agent-driven testing)
Must Haves:
Experience as a Senior Software Engineer or SDET with a strong CS foundation
Automated QA experience in robotics, autonomous systems, drone tech, or other hardware-integrated platforms
The ability to architect an automation system — not just contribute tests
Deep curiosity and problem-solving instincts, with an obsession for reliability and performance
