Europe Portugal LE_0155-Grohe Portugal Componentes Sanitarios Lda. Employee Assignment Hybrid Full Time 20 July 2026

As part of our new Manufacturing Quality Strategy, we are establishing a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) function within our Albergaria plant. This is a pioneer position with strong influence, autonomy, and visibility across the organisation. Unlike traditional Quality Control roles focused on daily testing, this role operates independently as the Voice of the Customer, ensuring that plant execution aligns with central quality standards and long‑term business expectations.

You will play a key part in shifting the plant from reactive problem‑solving to a proactive prevention culture, driving systemic improvements, strengthening audit readiness, and reducing warranty claims.

What You Will Do

  • Manufacturing Quality Strategy — Implement the new central QA governance model at the plant level, ensuring a clear separation between QA (prevention) and QC (testing). Monitor quality KPIs and provide transparent risk reporting to European leadership.
  • Root‑Cause Analysis & Warranty Reduction — Lead cross‑functional investigations into field failures. Analyse CCR and warranty data to identify trends and ensure sustainable corrective actions through structured methodologies such as 8D.
  • Process Auditing & Compliance — Support and execute risk‑based process audits (e.g., Layered Process Audits, VDA 6.3). Strengthen audit readiness and ensure findings translate into systemic improvements.
  • Quality Firewall & Escalation — Act as an independent authority safeguarding central quality standards. Intervene in manufacturing or shipping processes when customer safety or brand reputation is at risk.
  • Shopfloor Problem‑Solving & Prevention Culture — Promote “Quality at the Source” and coach teams on advanced problem‑solving tools (Ishikawa, 5‑Why, FTA).
  • Reporting & Trend Analysis — Prepare monthly quality performance reviews, highlighting risks, trends, and progress on major improvement projects.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Management or as a Quality Engineer
  • Strong analytical mindset and structured problem‑solving skills
  • Assertive, diplomatic communicator able to influence decisions at all levels
  • Ability to build strong relationships within plant environments
  • Comfortable operating independently in a newly created, high‑autonomy function
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering

Nice To Have

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • VDA 6.3 knowledge or certification
  • German language skills

Who You Are

  • A pioneer with a proactive, improvement‑driven mindset
  • Collaborative, yet confident, challenging decisions when needed
  • Data‑driven, structured, and comfortable working across functions
  • Motivated by building something new and making a measurable impact

Why This Role Matters

This Position Is Central To Our Long‑term Vision Of Establishing a Strong, Standardised QA Function Across All Manufacturing Plants In Portugal And Europe. You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Build and shape a new QA function from the ground up
  • Influence manufacturing quality culture at the plant and regional level
  • Work in a strategic, high‑visibility role with strong autonomy
  • Contribute directly to warranty reduction, audit readiness, and preventive quality excellence
