Incorp Rate: $69-$73.69
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support end-to-end system testing activities for web applications and reporting systems within a large-scale enterprise environment. The successful candidate will provide expertise in functional, integration, regression, and API testing, while ensuring high-quality delivery through structured test planning, execution, and defect management.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
- Follow a defined test strategy and contribute to test planning activities
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans and test cases
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing for web applications and reports
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) through test execution and test data preparation
- Assist in defining testing scope during sprint/iteration planning
API & Technical Testing
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, and SOAP UI
- Create and manage test data using automated tools to support functional and regression testing
- Conduct database validation and verification using SQL in an Oracle environment
Defect Management
- Log, track, and manage defects using industry-standard defect tracking tools
- Lead and participate in defect triage and review sessions
- Ensure defects are followed through the full testing lifecycle based on priority and severity
- Provide regular updates on defect status to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Quality Assurance & Collaboration
- Participate in iteration planning sessions and contribute to acceptance criteria definition
- Lead and/or participate in peer reviews of test artifacts
- Provide input into overall test strategy and quality approach
- Review and communicate test results to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and testing leads to ensure alignment on scope and quality expectations
Reporting & Stakeholder Support
- Support test reporting activities and provide clear documentation of results
- Assist in managing scope and issue resolution with the project team
- Provide advisory support to the Project Manager and Testing Lead on testing risks and issues
Must-Have Requirements
- Experience executing functional, regression, integration, and system testing for web applications and reporting systems
- Strong experience in API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or SOAP UI
- Experience creating and managing test plans, test cases, and test data
- Experience leading or participating in defect triage and review processes
- Strong understanding of the full defect lifecycle management
- Experience performing SQL-based database validation (Oracle environment preferred)
