POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to assure consistent quality of production by using and enforcing good manufacturing practice systems. Inspect products and/or documents at various stages of production to validate processes and provide documentation required to show compliance to the Sonaca-NA Quality System.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in identifying parts deficiencies and helps to prevent further recurrences.
Determining whether the product is acceptable or unacceptable according to work order and customer requirements.
Responsibly handle “stop the job” authority at any stage of process.
Perform sampling inspection.
Perform Adhesion Testing requirements.
Maintain good housekeeping in the inspection areas.
Set up and operation of thickness testing equipment and software (Posi-Tector and Posi-Tector Software)
Properly use calibrated thickness masters, shims, certified master materials samples, etc.
Verify the job, matching the actual parts with the work order, part number(s), printed and/or electronic pictures and part count.
Access all applicable Prime customer specification requirements on SharePoint site.
Determining that the correct materials and processes have been applied.
Visually inspection of Conversion Coat Class 1a and Class 3
Perform inspection of Anodize Type I, IC, II both Class 1 and 2 for visual thickness, when required, per customer specification, inspection conformation (inspection of soft spots), and color-matching.
Perform inspection of Alkaline Clean Type III. Proper color change, absence of smut residue.
Perform inspection of Abrasive Clean to verify absence of heat scale; verify surface roughened to ensure proper organic coating adhesion.
Follow the BAC 5736 Adhesion Sampling Plan and reports any negative trends to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Entering data into the Work Order Tracking System, including notes and recording data on the work order.
Documenting Nonconforming Material per the Quality System Requirements.
Follow all safety requirements and enforce compliance. Work overtime, when required (including weekends), on short notice.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Inspection Lead.
Handle customer-supplied product with care.
Maintain Sonaca-NA’s quality standards to meet and exceed customer expectations Manages time effectively so that production, quality and delivery schedules are met.
Interacts professionally with co-workers and vendors, understands internal customers, and strives to maintain good relations with others.
Responds quickly to inquiries and follows up, as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
Must have essential computer skills with working knowledge of Excel software.
Must have ability to read and comprehend American English.
Must have ability to read, interpret, and understand customer drawing, mylars and sketches as applicable to work being performed.
Must develop a good working knowledge of all internal procedures and customer requirements.
Must develop a good working knowledge of the processes performed in the chemical processing area.
Must exhibit good communication skills when dealing with inspection personnel, on-floor operators and customer service representatives.
Must be flexible, self-driven.
Must become proficient in using the Work Order Tracking Program, and the Quality System on the SharePoint site.
Must exhibit professionalism when dealing with subordinates and superiors.
Must exhibit ability to troubleshoot and correct problems using problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements
Must have ability to bend, twist, and stretch arms above head and walk or stand for long periods of time
Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Must have standard visual acuity (correctable by prescription glasses or contacts meets the requirement) and have the ability to distinguish colors.
Hearing with or without correction is required.
Must have sufficient hand/eye coordination.
