YS Precision Stamping is a manufacturer of metal brake components. (Pressure plates, shims and other automotive related metal parts).
We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Quality Control Team for our metal stamping facility in Georgetown, KY.
This is a full-time role, with Morning and Overnight positions available.
Under general direction of the Quality Manager or designee, The Quality Control Technician has the following responsibilities:
- Performs measurements using manual instruments (calipers, height gauges, micrometers) and electronic measurement equipment (CMM, etc.)
- Performs necessary quality inspection, testing and quality activities on our metal stamped parts.
- Ensures that the results of inspection and tests performed conform to our Customer Standards.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists team members in solving work problems.
- Assist quality engineers with first article inspections, compiling dimensional data and supporting PPAP documentation requirements.
- Maintain inspection area organization per 5S standards and update inspection documentation when drawings or specifications are revised.
This is not a “behind the desk” position. Qualifying candidates should be able to perform periodic checks on the floor and bring parts to the lab for further measuring.
Skills and Experience
Must have relevant experience with the use of measuring and inspection tools and techniques (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauge) with knowledge of the metric system.
Optical inspection skills: comparators, vision system operation for basic geometric checks
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel. Must be able to process documentation record measuring results.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrate teamwork and professionalism and the achievement of high levels of productivity.
Good mathematical skills.
Must be able to read / interpret blueprints
APPLICANTS MUST HAVE PROVEN QUALITY CONTROL EXPERIENCE IN A MANUFACTURING SETTING.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the PPAP process
- Experience with a CMM machine a plus.
- Experience with formed metals (metal stamping) is preferred.
- Proven track record of excellent attendance is a must.
- Clean background.
